What Would You Do?

All through our lives, we come across many incidences. Some of those are minor while other are major, some make us happy while others leave unwanted traces behind them, some make a drastically fantastic difference while others just don’t kill us and spare us to live while bearing the aftershocks. We happen to live the fancy ones and when it comes to the other side of the picture, we happen to act or witness a mixed of different reactions.

A couple of days ago, I witnessed an accident. A cart loaded with iron bars hit a vehicle from the driver’s side. Though it wasn’t as major an accident as it could have been but the phenomena can be linked to what we’re trying to discuss here. The driver got out, stood beside his vehicle, was going to bump the guy on the cart and then stopped. Sat in and went on his way. What was to happen, had happened. Hitting the guy, calling the police, filing an application, whatever he had done, wouldn’t have reversed what just happened.
A couple of years ago, a friend had to suffer a major break up. Probably one of the most unfortunate and sad incidences he has had in his entire life. It was like losing someone close to you to death. With as major incidences as that, there come consolations, explanations, advices, ambitions, tips of self-recognition and that very old and strong argument that it was meant to happen and whatever happened, happened for the good of you.

He was broke, he wasn’t ready for any of that, was still in the state of denial and to that argument, he’d often say that if it happened in the best of his interests, why does he feel that gap inside his chest? He used to tell everybody that whatever you say, your words are not going to bring her back. Yes, that’s life, nothing ever gets back. All you are left with is the burden of what just happened and all you can do is to play with your understanding of the situation and come up with a theory that justifies what happened but theories like thus don’t reverse what just happened, nothing ever does.

What are you possibly supposed to do in the end if something unfortunate happens? Hollywood often presents heroes who set out to take revenge but taking a revenge doesn’t get those back who are gone, does it? Unfortunately when it comes to this question, I stand empty minded, wondering what am I supposed to do and how am I supposed to react? Irrespective of the situation around me, irrespective of whether the revenge has been taken or not, I lost something dear to me and I don’t really care about any of the rest. There has to be an answer or a standard operating procedure like you perform when you get to know of being affected by some disease, you take your medicines and get cured from that. There must be some remedies that cures the gaps in your chests, that return the happiness of your heart, that brings back the charm of your soul and that get your life as decorated as before and that clears the blurriness of the series of even we call life and bring back those who are dear to us more than anything.

But what would you do when you find out there are no such magical remedies and that you have to live with the gaps?

Polluted Asia

War Pollution

Air pollution is the concentration of very small size particulate matter in air which is responsible for various respiratory diseases, some of them prove deadly to several persons of the society. Generally the air pollution level is high in urban cities. Recently WHO published a report on air pollution and it wasn’t very surprising to know that Pakistan is leading the world in this area followed by various Asian countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Egypt and others.

The primary responsible stakeholders or air pollution include industrial revolution, increased birth rate and lack of awareness regarding the air pollution in under-developed countries. There is one other stakeholder that needs to be mentioned separately and that is the behavior of people. This behavior includes the behavior of people living inside these countries and additionally the behavior of nations intruding these areas.

As far as Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran is concerned, the last factor plays a vital role. Afghanistan has been the land of unexpected, thrilling, unexpected and unpleasant adventurous incidences since the pre-historic era. At times Russians intrude the land, then talibans come forward to take hold and then USA strikes are observed later and in recent years. Whenever I hear the news of a bomb explosion, I wonder how much environmental damage would it have caused. The air strikes, use of armor, collapsed civil structures, drones, transportation carbon emissions and the list goes on.

Islamic Democratic Pakistan has always been enjoying the benefits of it geographical location. But when you accept something, you have to accept the entire package. The environmental issues are getting worse day by day in the country regarding every sort of environment including political environment, educational environment, social environment, economic environment, industrial environment and now hats off to the country, it has become a legendary leader in atmospheric environmental pollution as well. And the people of Pakistan whether be the industrialist, politician, military representative, researcher, bureaucrat, or a mere bloody civilian all have contributed great efforts to take the country to the verge of disaster in every aspect of life.

The same circumstances and the same behavioral attitudes prove true for other under developed Asian countries. When I write, it sometimes seems to me that I am an anti-states or anti-europe person because I take time to observe the outcomes of foreign intrusions with less a distance but the fact of the matter is it is not the outsider that causes the damage, it’s always the insider. Because devil always lies inside the chest.

The Blood Moon

BloodMoon

It was October 8, 2014 and the Muslim community of planet earth was celebrating The Festival of Sacrifice. Animals are sacrificed each year at the occasion of Hajj in Saudi Arabia and throughout the world wherever Muslim Community is located. Hajj, which happens to be the largest gathering of human beings in one place peacefully performing religious obligation is itself a miraculous ritual. After that Muslims all around the world perform the sacrifice of animals and the festival lasts for three days. It is during these days when the moon turned red.

If we were living in ‘stone age era’ I would have postulated that enough animal blood has been shed to obey and please the Lord and the moon turning red is witnessing the approval of it. But being the survivals of 21st century, we all know that it has its own scientific reasons which need not to be discussed right now. The good thing is that we can declare ourselves as survivors and witnesses of the blood moon unlike several who have become a part of history as being the animals of sacrifice on the festival.

Speaking of the religious rituals, history is full of the bloodshed in the name of religion to please certain gods, goddesses and supposedly supernatural powers. In my very own country, people are very inspired by the idea of human bloodshed and they can’t find enough pleasure to make circumstances suit for the sacrifice of human beings. During these three days of the festival, along with the sacred blood of animals, comparatively less worthy and filthy blood of human beings was also shed to please the oldest and the strongest of all the antique gods, the human ego.

Four women slaughtered under the shed of ‘honor killing’ because of being involved in some sort of so called illicit affair. I wonder what sort of ‘honor’ gets restored if you murder the persons involved. In one incident a father murdered his own daughter in the name of ‘honor’ declaring himself of having slaughtered the most admired and high ranked of all the animals. Yeah this definitely would have satisfied his ‘god’ and the mood definitely would have witnessed the approval of his sacrificial spirit.

We are the people of a third world under-developed country and whenever some undesired incidence takes place, we turn our heads towards West and States and our tongues can’t get tired of admiring values in those developed countries. We quote the wonderful and magnificent systems of those areas of the world, we take pride of boasting about a few visits of those countries telling the stories of how disciplined people are over there. How much respect is delivered to the animal called ‘Homo-Sapiens’ and after that we start cursing the system here and the people here, totally keeping ourselves apart from the system because of those couple of visits to the developed countries.

But I was really glad to find out that the officials of States are as much dominated by the spirit of sacrifice as the barbarians of the this third world developing country. They also presented their sacrifice at the festival to celebrate the occasion and to show off their unity and appreciation of the Muslim Community. Like the residents of Pakistan, like the father who slaughtered a prestigious animal this year, they also sacrificed about a dozen of Homo-Sapiens during these days of the festival. Unlike the barbarians, their method of performing the ritual is very advance, they do it via drones. And I do not need to mention that whoever gets killed in a US drone attack in Pakistan, was born a militant and a threat to mankind.

But I have a slight objection at the Americans, why do they sacrifice our ‘animals’, why don’t they bring their own animals for slaughter. The Great Britain, always bearing a very high rank amongst the noble and sophisticated nations removed my objection. They sacrifice their own children for the rituals of witch hunting. The figures of children murdered for the reasons of witch hunting are getting higher. I guess it’s not just the barbarians playing the game, some ‘white collar’ nations are also interested in the festival for their own reasons, after all they all have their own lens of watching this world and it’s totally their democratic right to do so.

I would have been wrong to postulate the mood turned red because of ‘animal’ blood shed of the Muslims, it probably witnessed the approval of the bloodshed of humans of the entire planet earth.

Watching this little clip called ‘reality’ from the lens I’m wearing, I am getting certain about the Christian myth that these lunar eclipses are the sign of the ending days of this planet.

LoveOfWords

It’s true

That I love you,

Trust it,  and why would you

These are just words, unworthy, undue.

How to make you believe me

You and I are meant to be we,

Through my eyes, can’t you see?

Inside this heart, full of love, there lies a sea.

For you, I’d wait and wait

Till approaches that moment in my fate,

When you arrive back in time or belate

Till the end, for you, I’d wait.

The Blink of a Moment

Today, we all live a life of ultimate busy routine. We have things onto the tip of our fingers all the time and thanks to even more updated gadgets onto our wrists and glasses. They do all the functions from translating for us to getting us connected to our loved ones. Technology today offers everything at its best ease but only at the cost of your life. You have to lose your days to get all the money to spend to make your life a luxury. It’s a tricky question whether you consume your money or your money indeed consumes you. Whether you manage your time or your time manages you.

For an entire year, I’ve been planning a vacation but because of a list of undone tasks, unattended matters and unfinished projects that family vacation is being postponed. Every month, I hold that list in my hands and try to make time for the vacation and in the end, it’s always the next month. This day-night routine goes on so goes on the life and I am being consumed by these moments bit by bit like everyone else who is living or who has lived on earth.

Today, as usual, I was driving in hurry constantly organizing the list of tasks to be completed when I saw some people standing on the opposite lane around a body lying on the road. When I pulled the breaks, I saw blood flowing out of the head of the person lying there. People gathered around to offer any help, people always do the same. They just stand there to watch what’s happening and do not do anything because they’re afraid of legal inquiries and stuff.

A heavy vehicle hit three men on a bike, two were lucky to stand there alive but the third one was badly injured. The cracked head was telling he has lived all the moments granted to him. Like me, like everybody else in hurry, probably he was also organizing his unfinished tasks, postponing unimportant stuff, trying to finish the most important tasks first when the time ended. Just a moment blinked and a person was a part of history. He just lived for a couple of minutes and died right away on the spot. The incidence was very regretfully sad and I felt sorry for the person and for his family & relatives. I use the same road everyday and the incidence scared the hell out of me.

In older times and also currently in rural areas of Pakistan, carts are used for transportation. When I was a child, I often used to notice some dog going beneath some cart. The dog walked beneath the cart, then used to get out of it randomly from left or the right side, used to walk some distance out of the cart and then used to get beneath it once again. When I asked my grandfather about it, he told me that the dog thinks that he’s driving the cart. He gets out from either side to make sure that the cart is on the track correctly and when he gets assured, he gets beneath it once again.

Sometimes I feel that the busy humans are exactly like the dog. They think that they are driving the cart of this life, they waste their moments in making sure that the life is on the right track as if they didn’t do this, the system on earth would collapse. And often it doesn’t make any difference at all to this system when their moment blinks making them a chapter of history and right then another dog gets himself ready to look after the cart of life.

After today, I felt that one probably shouldn’t make himself as much a fool as the dog driving a cart. One probably shouldn’t manipulate the system on earth. One probably shouldn’t control the evolution of life. One probably shouldn’t make the sun rise and set in time. One probably shouldn’t make the moon shine on the sky everynight. Because one simply can’t do so like the dog can’t drive the cart.

And one definitely shouldn’t postpone a family trip because one never knows when his moment would blink making him a chapter of the past depriving him of a wonderful quality time which is indeed the essence of life.

Nobel Prize— for Destruction

Posted on

Nobel Prize is considered to be the most prestigious prize in respected fields and the ultimate dream of every person working in the relevant field. The fields into which Nobel Prize is awarded include Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, Peace, Literature and Economics. The story of any Nobel Prize Award starts with the devotion of a person conducting research in any of the respected fields and willingly trades his time, efforts, abilities, attributes and life for a glory that he might not even live to see, enjoy and receive. But the gamble’s a successful one, it’s worth it and has been played by many names written in golden in the book of history. The story started with Alfred Nobel, who donated his entire wealth to award prizes to the ones who become the greatest relief to mankind through their work in their field. After the name of Nobel Alfred, the prize was named Nobel Prize.

The approach behind the creation of Nobel Prize was also very noble. The prize admires the efforts of the persons that become the greatest relief to humanity and mankind through their work. It’s worth mentioning that one Pakistani scientist, Dr. Abdul Islam also received a Nobel Prize for his work in Physics. Though the international scientific and intellectual community recognized his services for science and mankind, the person unfortunately could not receive that level of affection from his homeland because of being a part of a condemned religious sect.

The process of evolution has been playing its role in each and every aspect of our lives, ranging from sciences to religion, from peace to war, from emotions of love to feelings of hatred and from ways of living life to ceremonies of death. Mankind has always been resisting to accept a change without its strong efforts of rejecting it and Nobel Prize is no exception. With the passage of time, the cause of creation of Nobel Prize, ‘services to mankind’ evolved in its interpretation by common public and different nations. Different societies claimed their own sense of this cause, like different version of the same religion a conflicted erupted.

The United States of America came forward to serve humanity by gaining dominion to the so called third world, ‘rich in oil’ countries at first and then simultaneously increased attempts against Chinese invasion onto the horizons of the international economics. The manipulation of internal affairs and politics of third world countries is also loaded with the holy spirit of services to humanity and mankind. Israel felt very deprived and restless and then came forward to save this earth from Palestinians. They say that history keeps on repeating itself and probably this is why mankind keeps on resisting the changes of evolution. I wonder why the caretakers of the Nobel Prize awarding committees have been neglecting the efforts of the two renowned states and why didn’t they introduce a new category to the Nobel Prizes, the Nobel Prize in the field of Destruction.

I am pretty much sure that a lot of stakeholders of this newly proposed category are very anxiously waiting of being awarded a Nobel Prize worldwide and that this category would win prizes more than any other and I wonder this is why the caretakers are being reluctant to launch this new category, so to save the prize money.

This reminds me of the words of Pop Francis:

Even today, we raise our hand against our brother.. We have perfected our weapons, our conscious has fallen asleep, and we have sharpened our ideas to justify ourselves as if it were normal. We continue to sow destruction, pain and death.

Letter to the Present Moment

The moment of now
It’s a gift somehow,
When it passes by
To me, it says ‘hi’.

But I don’t wave back
Lost as I am on some remote track,
And deep inside my heart
Pounds to say that she’s my brand new start.

To this moment, I tell
My life wants only hers spell,
No regrets to the lost moments rushing by
When I see her, I want to live life of those moments coming by.
